How to Make Paper Christmas Tree

Good day everyone! It is time to do a craft. Let's make a Christmas Tree.

What is special with this Christmas tree is we are going to use newspapers and white scratch papers. Instead of throwing them away, let's make something out of it. So let us move on and prepare the things we need.

Paper Christmas Tree
Prepare these items:

1. Newspapers
2. White scratch papers(one side is clean)
3. Scissors
4. Tape
5. Shoe box cover
6. Glitter dusts
7. Glue

Now let us start!

1. Get four pages of newspaper and place them on top of one another. We are now going to make a cone. Join the left edge and the right edge of the newspaper. Have the pointed part of the cone sit on the newspaper crease. Tape the joining edges. You should get something like the picture.

2. Take a couple of newspaper pages and make large strips. Then crumple the strips. Use the crumpled paper to fill the cone. Press down to put more filling. This process will give our Christmas tree weight and volume so it can be sturdy enough to stand. Fold the opening part inwards and tape to seal. Let the cone stand on its base. The cone should stand straight up and not leaning. Adjust by pressing down the paper and taping it in place.

3. Take the shoe box cover and make a square base for the cone. This is where the cone will sit to give it more balance. It is best if the shoe box color will fit the theme. Otherwise, it can be wrapped in a nice paper to give it the right look. Position the cone on top of the square base then secure it in place using a tape.

3. Now it is time to put on some leaves.  Get the white scratch papers. Fold a Letter sized paper twice to get four parts. Draw a leaf on the wrong side of the paper. Cut out the leaves by following the pattern below. It doesn't have to be perfect. It will turn out great either way you want. The gray area is our guide on where to put the glue later.

4. When the leaves are cut, put glue and spread it out on the leaf. The whole leaf doesnt have to be covered with glue. Sprinkle/Dab glitter dust to where there is glue. Shake off the excess glitter and then let the leaf dry.  Make more leaves enough to cover your whole cone base.

5. When the leaves have dried and the glitters are in place, glue individual leaf to the cone base. Overlap the the edges to cover the newspaper underneath. This is the exciting part because you will be surprised to watch the transformation into a beautiful glittery Christmas tree.

6. Decorate the tree with ornaments you can put in. Here are some samples of the Christmas trees that I decorated.

This is a blue themed Christmas tree. I decorated it with Christmas balls and glittery blue ribbon. I also covered the base with a silver sheet.
